|The libraries in Cumberland County are looking at a deficit in excess of $30,000 in 2017/18. |
This means we will need to cut hours or close a location.
In the last 8 years the Cumberland Public Libraries has received a 1.3% increase in funding from the province. In that same period of time the cost of living has increased 11.9%. That means it costs more for us to buy books, provide programs, and pay staff. Money that we don't have.
