Your support enriches the public library system in Cumberland County.

The Cumberland Public Libraries gladly accepts donations for a gift or memorial.

You may choose whether you want your donation to go toward books, library programs, or general operations.

You may contribute in your own name, or in the name of the person being honoured or memorialized. For each $25 donation, you will receive a bookplate that will be printed with your name and placed in a new Cumberland Public Libraries book. Make a donation to honour a friend, colleague, favourite teacher, or to remember a loved one.

Your generosity will help us provide new books and programs for our thousands of library visitors each year.

Tax receipts will be issued for donations $10 and over.

Donations of Books and DVDs

CPL accepts gifts of books and other materials.

We only accept donations of material in excellent condition, and produced in the past 5 years*.

These include:

• Recent bestsellers and books that have been published in the last 5 years
• Movies (DVDs, Blu-ray only)
• Audiobooks (CD or MP3 only)

The Library does not accept magazines, encyclopedias, textbooks, yearbooks, or Reader’s Digest condensed books.

*Donations must be given with the understanding that should the library choose to not use the materials, they may be sold (with the proceeds going to the library) or failing that, disposed of as the library sees fit. The Library is unable to return donations.

All donations of gifts in kind (used books, furniture or equipment, etc.) are subject to official acceptance by the Library.
